Detective Pikachu: A Spoilerish Review

Long time no see readers. This may be a month late but, welcome to my second “Spoilerish” review where I review, analyze and spoil a movie that I happened to see and wanted to review. Today’s video is about Pokémon’s first ever live action film, Detective Pikachu.

Detective Pikachu like any video game film adaptation has a lot of problems, but that doesn’t disqualify it from being a good film. While these flaws are most apparent in the first third of the film, the movie improves as the story goes on. The second third, after Ryan Reynold’s Pikachu has been introduced, the film certainly picks up, becomes faster in pace and is a lot more enjoyable. The third act on the other hand feels pretty rushed and really bizarre, and to me I can’t tell if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Opinions may vary. I liked it.

Justice Smith’s interpretation of the game character, Tim Goodman, is a huge improvement over the video game’s version of the character. In fact despite the movie’s short comings it still has a better story and mystery than the game it’s based on. While the game ends on a cliff hanger (it’ll soon get a sequel on the Nintendo Switch), the movie completes the story of Tim and Pikachu defeating the villain and reunites Tim with his father.

I give the film a GOOD rating! Certainly it is the best video game film that has ever been produced in like… well ever! For more details and a deeper analysis on the Detective Pikachu movie and game check out my video review down below. It would be very appreciated and thanks for reading!

What were your opinions of the Detective Pikachu movie? would you like to see a sequel? Tell me in the comments below.

Avengers Endgame. A Spoilerish Review

The MCU is an admirable set of films and it all culminates with this most recent film, Avengers Endgame. I saw the movie day one and finally got around to doing a review for the film.

Endgame is no doubt a cinematic event, one of the biggest of our lifetime. Even if you haven’t seen a single MCU film, you’ll still able to have fun with it, not optimally but its a blast the whole way through anyway. In this day and age, it’s almost impossible to not know what the MCU. The series is over 10 years old, it all ends with this.

In the review video down below I start with a general review with no spoilers and then lead into an analytical and in-depth look at the scenarios in the film. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen the film yet, you’ll be safe.

In short, this film isn’t perfect but it may as well be and is a perfect send-off and ending to the film industries greatest achievement. The video review is down below the break.

Sonic’s First Movie Trailer Hypes up the Internet for All the Wrong Reasons

We’ve known about the Sonic Movie for years now. We’ve known about Sonic’s… intriguing design for a few months. Now we finally get to see what the final product looks like. Check out the trailer and my video impressions below the break. Before we do let’s do some analysis. It seems so many people have responded to the trailer with great negativity and at the time of writing this article the trailer is Trending #1 on Youtube and has received over 13 million views in one day.

Everyone has been making reaction videos for this trailer and this my readers is why this trailer is super effective. I personally wanted to see the Sonic film long before we got this trailer but now I want to see it more than ever! This trailer is getting a ton of attention and hyping up internet users for all the wrong reasons.

The low quality of the trailer, its now ever apparent infamy and Sonic’s fame gives me, as well as other viewers mixed vibes. The movie looks awful but no one can shut up about it. People keep saying they want to see it just out of spite and I’m well into that category. What do you all think? Will you go see this film? How do you think it will do critically and financially? Let me know down below!

The Borderlands 3 Controversy Rant

There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the somewhat recently announced Borderlands 3. It started out with the announcement of B3 being released on PC not through Steam but the Epic Games Store. A lot of fans and gamers are so distraught over this matter that some say they will resort to pirating the game upon its release while others are currently review-bombing the previous games on Steam. It seems there’s a lot of drama coming from all sides because of this choice of marketing so decided to detail all these happenings in my video below.

This article and video are very different from what I usually write and make so apologies if I get some information wrong or my thoughts seem unclear. I hope you enjoy it anyways. Check it out down below.

Nintendo Now Experiments with VR With Labo!

Does anyone remember Nintendo Labo? The cardboard arts and crafts accessories that you could plug your switch into it and play little mini games? Well, Nintendo is bringing the cardboard back but this time for a more ambitious purpose, Virtual Reality. While back in the day Nintendo had stated they had no interest in developing a project for VR, they never discounted the idea of one day making VR games.

While the games for Labo VR may not be as in-depth as other VR games, like Skyrim VR or Resident Evil 7, the prospect of the Labo kit having VR elements to it I feel makes this kit more worth purchasing than the previous ones: it also helps that all kits together only cost about 80 dollars together. There are multiple kits available for purchase:

Nintendo Labo: VR Kit: Available at a suggested retail price of $79.99, the complete Nintendo Labo: VR Kit includes the Nintendo Switch software and materials to build all six Toy-Con projects – the Toy-Con VR Goggles, Toy-Con Blaster, Toy-Con Camera, Toy-Con Bird, Toy-Con Wind Pedal and Toy-Con Elephant – as well as a Screen Holder and Safety Cap. It’s a good option for kids and families who want to dive in to the full experience.

Nintendo Labo: VR Kit – Starter Set + Blaster: Available at a suggested retail price of only $39.99, the Starter Set includes the Nintendo Switch software, plus all the components to build the Toy-Con VR Goggles and Toy-Con Blaster, as well as the Screen Holder and Safety Cap. The Starter Set is a great entry point into the world of Nintendo Labo VR.

  • VR Goggles – allows you to see imaginary fantastical worlds and real-world locations.
  • Wind Pedal
  • Camera – allows you to play a Pokémon Snap type game, (Please re-release the game for this peripheral, please!)
  • Elephant
  • Bird – allows you to see the world while flying!
  • Blaster – shoot down aliens with the blaster.

So yeah, if you’re expecting to play Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey with the Labo VR, you won’t be seeing any of that here, maybe in the future. I probably will buy this set just to see how well the VR works with this setup. Here’s to hoping that this experiment is worth the wait and that Nintendo expands on this concept in the future.

The VR sets are expected to release April 12th in North America and the UK.

Sonic’s Leaked Movie Design is Surprisingly Decent if you have low expectations.

Hey everyone. Most people know of Sonic’s strange and bizarre silhouette from the movie poster all those months back. Well, now we have seen through a leaked film style guide what exactly his design is. Some people are relieved with the final outcome of the mystery design while others are baffled and in fear. I personally didn’t mind the design at first BUT, watch my video down below until the end to see what Sonic’s in-movie design will be. (Hint: Deceivingly different from the illustration you see in this article’s featured image)

Thank you guys for watch and reading and I’ll see you guys next time, whenever I get around to writing another article! Have a good one! ~PND

New Pokémon Game: Sword and Shield

Greetings to all my readers, long time no see!

A couple of days ago we got a trailer for the latest generation of Pokémon games. A lovely duo of games exclusive for the Nintendo Switch: Sword and Shield. With each new Pokemon game comes a new trio of Staters, a new region, and a semi-new art style. Wanna see what the game has to offer? Check out the video down below to see what we know about Pokémon: Sword and Shield and get my opinions. Also, the pokemon you see me holding in the thumbnail is the new fire starter Scorbunny. I’m most likely gonna choose him HAH. Let me know down in the comments what you think of these new announcements.

On top of that, I roast the starter designs. Gotta love/hate them.

Metroid Prime 4’s History and Reboot

Hello to all who still follow this website! I have returned to make a new video and article. Sorry for taking so long but I felt this topic needed to be discussed. Today I’ll be writing about the latest news involving the next installment in the Metroid franchise: Metroid Prime 4.

Metroid Prime 4 was announced at E3 2017 and was meant to be released either this year or in 2020. But recently it has been announced that the game had halted in production and would be restarted with the team that created the Prime series, Retro Studios. Why did this new development occur and what can we expect from the Metroid Series from here on out? Why was Retro Studios not considered to develop MP4, to begin with? Please watch the video below.
